Right Time, Right Messages, Right Tech: Using Online Orientation to Phase the Transition

When:  Sep 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (CT)

Event Description

Presented by a NODA Associate Member, Advantage Design Group

In this session we’ll explore how Texas A&M University reimagined its orientation experience using content mapping. Participants will learn how our team tackled feedback about redundancy and engagement by aligning content with student needs and timing—delivering the right message at the right moment.

We’ll walk through our phased orientation model, which includes a required two-part online orientation (powered by Advantage Design Group) and in-person programming. You’ll hear how we used content mapping to streamline messaging, reduce repetition, and ensure each phase of orientation builds on the last with purpose and clarity.

This session will also highlight our collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement, including how we brought campus partners together to co-create a more intentional and student-centered onboarding experience.
