The Curriculum Foundations for Program Planning Webinar will introduce the concept of curriculum development and how it influences the field of Orientation, Transition, and Retention (OTR). Participants will leave with a broader understanding of curriculum development and ideas for application to their work. This webinar is designed for anyone new to the concept of curriculum and the applications to OTR, regardless of professional level.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By participating in this webinar, individuals will:

  1. Explore the fundamental principles and theories of curriculum development.

  2. Understand how curriculum development shapes effective content delivery in OTR.

  3. Utilize existing frameworks, outcomes, and goals in building programs and practices.

PRESENTER:

Vincent Prior currently serves as the Director of Undergraduate Orientation Programs at Ohio University. He has over 12 years of OTR experience, including work in first-year advising, orientation, and transfer programs at the University of New Orleans, the University of North Georgia, and Ohio University. He holds a Bachelor’s in Math Education, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, a Post-Master’s certificate in Transfer Leadership and Practice, and is currently working on a PhD in Higher Education. Vincent has been an active NODA member since his time as an undergraduate student and has held various leadership positions across the Association.
