Dialogue in Orientation: Tools for Inclusive Student Engagement and Encouraging Viewpoint Diversity

When:  Aug 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (CT)

Event Description

This 60-minute webinar will introduce Soliya’s mission and core principles of dialogue as a tool for student orientation. Designed for orientation professionals and student leaders, the session has two parts:

  • The first will explore the importance of creating safe spaces for dialogue on campuses facing polarization and reduced in-person engagement. It will offer practical tools for fostering inclusive spaces and introduce foundational skills such as active listening, asking good questions, and navigating emotions.
  • The second part will feature a roundtable discussion, giving NODA members an opportunity to share experiences, explore challenges they face in their work, brainstorm best practices, and connect dialogue practices to their own contexts and goals. The intended audience for the webinar are new and mid-level orientation professionals and student orientation leaders.
